⭐️Working As a Bar Crawl Leader
Embarking on a journey abroad can be transformative, but leading a pub crawl in a foreign city? That's an entirely different adventure altogether: navigating bustling streets, guiding a merry band of travellers through hidden alleys and lively pubs, each step immersed in the vibrant pulse of a new culture.
Often unpaid, or low paid when it is, the work itself is split between promoting and guiding and usually comes included with a place to rest a hopefully not too spinning head. But working abroad as a pub crawl leader isn't just a job; it's a passport to unforgettable experiences, cultural immersion, and the chance to weave tales that blend work and wanderlust, as the five travellers below can each attest.
* Ana - A bar crawl is a packaged nightlife tour for party seeking tourists to meet new people, and get free club entry and discounted drinks. Someone has to look after these rowdy groups of intoxicated holidaymakers and that someone in Portugal, Croatia and Greece has been Ana Powell. She tells The Blonde Abroad all about her travel job.
* Taylor - Business Insider speaks with Taylor Futch, who has worked at party hostels around the world, doing everything from leading pub crawls to manning the desk. As well as cleaning up sick, part of Taylor’s work has included creating social media content which she shares with her thousands of TikTok followers.
* Emily - While many bar crawl leaders work for accommodation with a hostel, Emily Rose got paid to live in another country while clubbing and socializing with like minded travellers when she landed a job with Krawl Through Krakow. Though it didn’t pay much, she says the job was a blast. Besides money, free accommodation, great coworkers and unlimited free drinks were among her ten reasons to work as a bar crawl leader with Krawl Through Krakow.
* Courtney - Intending to only stay a few days in Split, Croatia, Courtney saw in the pub crawl she joined as a punter a way to live overseas while having almost no expenses. The next day she spoke to the owner and was offered a spot on the job. Later, while broke in Budapest, Courtney landed the unpaid position of house bitch with one of the city’s best known party hostels where part of the job spec included rounding people up and leading them around town socialising and drinking.
* Matt - Working on a pub crawl in Europe is a wild ride of drinking, dancing and meeting people and getting paid to do it, says Matt, who also advises us to mentally prepare ourselves for the hangovers and lots and lots of sex fun.
