They’ve used JAB in the past to hire chefs and sous chefs, but other positions they may still need include managers, kitchen staff, bar staff and servers. ⭐️Mountain Biking Holiday Jobs In Morzine
Every year, we go too early in our expectation that Atlas Ride Co will have begun searching for chefs, drivers and chalet couples for their mountain biking holidays in Morzine. At the time of writing, we’ve done it again, but if by the time this issue is sent they haven’t yet put up a notice that they are looking for people with a love for biking, people, teamwork, and a solid work ethic in 2026, then they should do soon.

⭐️Volunteer In Sicily
ITALY > There are a great many layers to Eco-Adventure, and we always get distracted by the charm of Hercules the Donkey whenever we try to write a description of what a volunteer would be doing there. It mostly boils down to “living like a Robinson Crusoe family on a sunny island, building a treehouse eco village and adventure park.” Go check out their Workaway listing and then head back to their website to apply if you are not a Workaway member and want to avoid their fee.
⭐️Children First

⭐️Yacht Crew Work Types Explained
AT SEA > Here’s what most crew don’t realise: there’s no universally “best” work type. The right one depends on where you are in your career, what you need financially, and what you can tolerate mentally. ⭐️Hostel Volunteering Lead In Budapest
HUNGARY > We’ve seen Budapest’s Baroque Hostel bigged up by one of their former volunteers. WickedDenouement, a regular Reddit commenter on workaways, said the fifteen hours (a week) of labour there in exchange for a bed was pretty fair, especially when compared to the 33 hours they worked at another hostel, in Tokyo, to get the same.
Overall, they enjoyed the experience and the owner is “super nice.” Potential volunteers can reach out to them via email, given on their Facebook profile and also a different one on their website. Their profile is not well used, so if it’s not still at the top, it won’t take long to find a post from August last year with their own words on what they want from volunteers.
⭐️Dingo Backpackers Hostel Didn’t Eat My Baby But Does Have Some Negative Reviews
GEORGIA > Dingo Backpackers Hostel, however, has had some negative reviews recently concerning management. We don’t know the truth of them, but we do suggest investigating and considering their reviews yourself before deciding if volunteering there between April and October is for you.

They have a volunteer house with shared rooms, and also private bungalows to choose from, and ask for a minimum two week stay. In Rayong, try Dog Rescue Thailand.
⭐️MoonAcre Sanctuary
CYPRUS > No two days at MoonAcre Sanctuary are ever the same. Volunteers from dozens of nations have pitched in to help mother and daughter Rochelle and Ella and their rescued dogs since they commenced their programme in 2016. One of them wrote on her blog the good, the bad and the ugly of rescue life.
⭐️Cristaland
PORTUGAL > When Nika and Nana (and their cat, Oscar), travelling in a converted van, asked after volunteering opportunities around the Algarve, Cristaland, an eco friendly non profit community, suggested they should head their way. They’re literally hugging a tree in this video. And in this Instagram post. Naturalmente, a holistic retreat centre may need volunteers, too.
⭐️All Hands And Hearts
WORLDWIDE > All Hands Volunteers and Happy Hearts Fund initially joined forces in Nepal in 2015 to rebuild disaster resilient schools in the wake of the devastating earthquake, eventually merging into All Hands and Hearts. ⭐️Agrotourism Farm Volunteering In Southern Albania
ALBANIA > Some time ago, but not long enough that we’ve healed and are able to talk about it outside of paying by the hour, JAB mixed up two farms in Sarande, Albania. We got names wrong, apologised, confused Californians with Canadians, apologised again, and accidentally ordered salad.
When our cursor hovered over the link to Shawn’s Facebook profile, revealing her posing proudly in the nuddy, our trauma resurfaced on realising we had got genders wrong, too. Shawn was answering a job enquiry from someone with kitchen experience. Shawn and Kyle are the hosts at Botë Farms, a small farm to table agrotourism hotel in southern Albania, a short ferry ride from Corfu. This is their website. This is their WWOOF profile. Don’t mention us.
⭐️Volunteering At Yellow House KL
MALAYSIA > Yellow House KL recently rebuilt their volunteer house into a sustainable, light filled space; all the better to house all those giving their time to help this NGO with their work with refugees, homeless communities and other marginalised groups in Kuala Lumpur. They are on Workaway, but can also be contacted via their Facebook page.
⭐️A Big List Of Online English Teaching Companies
ONLINE > Veteran online ESL teacher Mike Veenstra’s Good Air Language keeps up to date a big list of online English teaching companies, along with plenty of other resources and advice on the topic. We found this list on TEFL Insider, a sporadically written substack, in a post remembering the best independent ESL resource sites.
⭐️Animal Sanctuary Volunteer Work Suggestions
WORLDWIDE > In response to a couple of French backpackers looking for volunteer work with an animal sanctuary, Gareth Jones (whose daughter we volunteered with in Thailand) pitched in with his suggestions, saying that DASH, the largest, licensed dog shelter in Greece, is always grateful for any help.
In western Bulgaria, Helen’s House of Hope was set up with her own money and resources in 2015 by Helen James. In Romania, Monica stepped up to support the local street dogs. She provides information on volunteering with her in a remote village in the rural countryside in the Carpathian mountains, and also has a Workaway listing.
The Animal and Environment Association, in Bethlehem, Palestine, is the first and only animal shelter in the West Bank. Gareth’s two suggestions in Thailand, Thai Street Paws and Sanklaburi Animal Sanctuary, are among these dozen or so ways to volunteer with rescue dogs in Thailand that we listed in JAB a couple of years ago.
Other participants in the Volunteer With Animals Facebook group (private) suggested Hold Fast To Dreams Animal Sanctuary and Rescue ODV, which started as two cousins travelling Europe with their pets and seems to have escalated. HJ Fish-er is currently in the hills of Almunecar, Spain, volunteering at a dog shelter run by Jane Bussmann, and says to give her a shout. Animal Aid Unlimited in Udaipur, India, is another recommendation.
⭐️The Jam Caravan
FINLAND & GREECE > JAB isn’t going to admit it was our mistaken belief that the Jam Caravan is a whole caravan made of jam that initially drew our attention to the subject of this post. The Jam Caravan is actually an artist residency in the Finnish archipelago based on a creative exchange model. Selected artists will receive free accommodation and meals in June, July, or August and, in return, artists are invited to share their work with their guests and local community through performances, DJ sets, workshops, talks, screenings, or other artistic activities. Here’s another artistic residency, this one in Greece.

They do this by enabling them to interact with native English speakers in a multicultural exchange. ⭐️Au Pair In Australia
AUSTRALIA > Sol Au Pairs has been active on Backpacker Job Board recently. Give them your address, and they’ll send you a guide to becoming an au pair in Australia. Dream Nannies is also there, promising adventure in Rockhampton, and sun, surf and smiles for joining a family in Noosa.
⭐️Eveil Babysitters
FRANCE > Months of staring at our broken advertise with us form without doing anything about it while we phased out our website in favour of this newsletter meant a) poverty, and b) Babylangues, Be My Nounou, and Mômji couldn’t keep abusing our free option by posting their adverts far too frequently to our boards and ignoring our warnings to stop doing so. We only mention this because a) we’re spiteful and bitter, and b) maybe they will ignore and not take your wants and needs seriously should you work for them.
You’d think Eveil Bilingue would be the worst of the lot, but they weren’t. Like those above, they hire native English speaking babysitters to work in France. These days, that of course means EU passports or work permits are required. Expect the next generation of French English learners to speak something like this.
⭐️JAB Has Moved On
WORLDWIDE > JAB has gotten over our former squeeze, The Working Traveller, running off with another woman, Jo Barnes, of The 50+ Nomad Club. We really have. Even if this is the second time we’ve mentioned it. No longer do we produce snot bubbles induced by bouts of wracking sobbing. We’re down to a single tear and seeking solace in a family sized pack of Cheetos smeared in margarine these days. They seem happy sharing advice on living your best years yet, side hustles and ways to fund travel and explore the world.

⭐️Camp Beaumont Asia And Dragonfly English Camps Link Corrections
THAILAND & MALAYSIA > At the beginning of the month, in big JAB we said UK passport holders can be volunteer activity leaders in Thailand or Malaysia, receiving a subsistence reimbursement each week to help cover basic in-country living costs. For email subscribers, the link given to their PDF document with the details was corrupted and should be this. And the link given for Dragonfly English Camps is this.
Red Tape
JAB is thrown together quickly on a shoestring and contains information and advertising that we believe is authentic and currently available. However, we recommend checking things out for yourselves, as we could be wrong about everything. We remind our readers that there are many scams on the internet aimed at people looking for work abroad, and suggest reading our Warnings, Safety and Spotting Scams pages.
