⭐️Universal Orlando Resort Summer Program 2027
USA > Applications are open for the Universal Orlando Resort Summer 2027 Program. Food and beverage, attractions, and park services attendants are the roles Yummy Jobs is offering next summer to students from the UK, Mexico and Canada.
An hourly wage of US$$18.50 for a 32 to 40 hour week over the duration of the three month long programme means that programme fees and other costs of over US$2,450 can be recouped, but this is still more about the experience of living and working in America, with a bit of travel time afterwards, than getting rich.
In her helpful summary of the programme, Working Expat Sabrina says that “overall, participants say that this was one of the best summers of their lives and they absolutely loved their experience.”

AT SEA > Working Expat Sabrina spent a year working on cruise ships. While she loved her time working on ships, these nine things would have helped her set proper expectations of what it’s like to be a crew member.
⭐️Cruise Ship Staff Vs Crew
There are a lot of rules on ships, and this can be difficult to get used to, writes Emma Jones, who travelled to California, Mexico, Hawaii, Canada and Alaska with Royal Caribbean. She swam with dolphins, watched the sunrise in a volcano, surfed and snorkelled, went to Hollywood, saw glaciers and icebergs and got a fabulous tan.
“The two distinct categories are crew and staff. Crew refers to jobs such as waiters, bar staff, cleaners and maintenance. Whereas staff takes in casino, spa, entertainment and retail.
The crew are not allowed to be in passenger areas when they are not working and are restricted to socialising in crew areas. Staff however, can use passenger facilities such as the bars, nightclub and gym. The two groups even eat in different dining rooms. This segregation is strange to begin with, but you soon learn to accept that it is just the way it is. However, I had the privilege of being staff. If you are intending to go on as crew, this is a consideration.
The job I did, cruise staff, is an all encompassing role. You are basically there to make sure the guests have a good time, whether this is running sports activities, socialising at parties or dressing up for a theme night. In some ways, the diversity of the job is what makes it so good. It couldn’t be any less 9 to 5 and you don’t get bored as your schedule and duties are always changing. However, it can be this irregularity that becomes taxing, as you have to be prepared to work at any time, and schedules are liable to change at the last moment.
To be cruise staff it is almost impossible to have an off day, or if you do, you can’t show it. The guests don’t realise you only got four hours sleep last night or that you’ve worked every day for the past five months. For them, this is their only week onboard the ship, and they want you to be as excited and energetic as they are. You are there to be the life and soul of their cruise. This can be difficult, but if you are a bright and bubbly person at heart, then you soon get used to it and learn ways to deal with those days when you really don’t want to smile at anyone.”

Applications for the 2026/27 Arctic Digital Nomads Grant are now open: the grant covers housing, coworking and activities - you bring your remote job. To help them keep Arctic Digital Nomads running and continue offering the grant, they ask for a small contribution from each person who applies.
As reported in Forbes, the offer to live and work in a remote community for free is a temporary one, but the hope is that some who visit may choose to relocate for longer, possibly permanently.

⭐️Summer Camp USA Hiring Fairs
USA > BUNAC, Camp America, USA Summer Camp, Camp Leaders, and Americamp have all listed upcoming dates for hiring fairs, each one offering the chance to walk away with an American summer camp job arranged on the day. Camp Counselors USA, American Summers, InterExchange, CIEE, Camp Staff USA, Camp Connections, and Wild Packs are other organisations offering packaged services for landing a job and securing the necessary paperwork for working as a camp counsellor in the USA. Non UK nationals may need to visit versions of their websites tailored to their nationality.
Which of these is best will depend on factors personal to you, but advice and opinions can be found in the r/summercamp/ subreddit. There is the option to apply to a camp directly, too. Some will arrange visas themselves, but the reason for this could be that placement agencies won’t work with them, and employment cancellation could leave you stranded.
One tip we have shared before suggests applying directly to a camp that works with an agency already and, if they hire you, they can go through the direct hire process, and you may get paid more than when placed through an agency.
