FRANCE > Ski Blanc recently opened recruitment for their 2026/27 winter season in Meribel, adding quotation marks to the couples they will need to staff their chalets there: one experienced in the kitchen and able to cook confidently to a high standard, the other experienced in front of house and housekeeping. They are a member of SbiT, an association that advises British workers on the work permit process, and will consider Australians, Kiwis and Canadians, too.

PORTUGAL > Although their website says they are scaling down their volunteer/helper programme, we recently saw Simon Philips, who runs EcoAlgarve’s CdC project, actively looking for volunteers, and their website says they would still be interested in talking to people who have a few months to spare assisting with tasks in two areas: building / landscape / mechanical and marketing / management / business development.
⭐️Every Person Who Joins Alikats Is A Host In The Broadest Sense
FRANCE > If you’re thinking about heading to the Alps next season for some cheap skiing, a bit of pocket money, and a story to tell at parties, don’t bother getting in touch with AliKats. They are looking to fill their chalets with people who come alive in a full room, who find energy in a busy chalet rather than despite it, and who still care in week twelve as much as week one. They might still have some summer roles, too.
⭐️Live By The Sea And Create A Mermaid World
GREECE > Ever wanted to disappear by the sea and build a world from your imagination? You can be part of this project, creating large scale immersive art in Kiato. This is described as not a typical volunteering experience. It’s a hands on creative space where ideas turn into physical art.
They are currently building an underwater world with giant relief sculptures of mermaids, octopuses, and sea creatures. You’ll work directly in the process: shaping structures with foam, applying plaster, adding textures, and painting the final world.
Looking for creative, open minded people staying at least one month, no experience is needed here; just curiosity and a willingness to create with your hands. The flow is flexible, with around 25 hours per week, in return for free accommodation provided in a shared artistic house just steps from the sea, with your own space in shared rooms, plus free pick up from Kiato train station. They also need a resident artist and content creator.
With bases in both the UK and Portugal, the non profit was created to provide a centre for information about products and services in the Algarve region that are considered to be working towards a sustainable future. The last information we had from them said volunteers received accommodation and a reasonable living wage.
⭐️Volunteers Needed In June For A Fairytale Birthday Party
NORWAY > A homeschool family living in the fjords of western Norway, who have been hosting volunteers for eight years, is offering food and accommodation to volunteers. Help can be with making firewood, gardening, around the house, maybe some cooking or playing with the kids, and perhaps with sewing and fixing fairytale style clothes, or building a treehouse for the kids. Check out their Instagram - it’s amazing. They may also need volunteers in autumn, or sometimes in winter.
⭐️Childcare Roles With Family Ski
FRANCE > Recruitment has opened at Family Ski for those who want to work hard, ski hard and have fun this winter. Their childcare team consists of qualified early years specialists, activity leaders, and ski school helpers. They also hire chalet staff and resort support staff. For the past few seasons, they have employed around 50 Brits.
⭐️Youth Adventure Trust Volunteers
UK > Thinking of those who like helping young people canoe, bike, and dangle off trees, we received a postcard from Rowana Harding suggesting volunteering with Youth Adventure Trust.
Their challenge volunteers have the opportunity to visit some of the UK’s most picturesque areas - from the Lake District to Snowdonia, the Peak District to the South Downs - helping to make sure YATs fundraising challenge events run smoothly, and participants feel supported and have a great experience. Events range from team hiking to multi activity challenges, including canoeing, mountain biking and climbing mountains.
They also need programme volunteers to work with young people on camps or activity days, supporting them to get the most out of the experience, and mentoring volunteers.
⭐️Ski Miquel Is Now Hiring
EUROPE > Ski Miquel began posting their 26/27 winter season requirements on the internet recently, but a perfectly good overall of all their positions - which include bar & ski hosts, chalet hosts, and housekeepers - can be found on their website. Most positions require EU passports or the right to work already in place, but some, notably a British chef and resort reps in Baqueira, a resort in the Pyrenees mountains of Catalonia, are only open to UK passport holders.
⭐️Join Elvira’s Garden Community Centre
GRENADA > Looking for a meaningful experience abroad? Elvira’s Garden Community Centre says to join them in Grenada. They are a small grassroots community centre supporting children aged three to 15. They are looking for caring, enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a real difference in many ways, including teaching and homework support, with arts, crafts, music and drama, sports, dance, swimming, gardening, helping with children’s programmes and camps. A four week stay here is most common, with accommodation and meals provided.
⭐️Become A Sea Turtle Guardian In Cilento
ITALY > A minimum one month commitment is required to join Oceanus NGO in the Cilento National Park and help them protect the endangered Caretta caretta sea turtles. As a core member of their conservation team, you will patrol Mediterranean beaches for nesting activity, monitor and protect nests, and engage with the local community and tourists through environmental awareness events. €80 weekly is required towards food and shared accommodation.

⭐️Help Restore A Caribbean Island Eco Hostel
VENEZUELA > Positive, open minded people, willing to learn, share, and exchange knowledge, are welcome to stay a minimum of two weeks (one month preferred), helping restore Hostal Nathalie in the Venezuelan Caribbean. Painting - walls or murals - maintenance and building work, gardening and general tasks all need doing here. A shared volunteer room bed and breakfast are provided in return.
⭐️Chalet Host Les Gets
FRANCE > Having been born and raised in Les Gets, a family friendly French village a few minutes from the livelier Morzine, Raphael travelled Europe as a noted chef before returning to his home in 2008 to found Mountain and Tradition with his wife, Jana. No experience is necessary to work for them as a chalet host, but some customer facing experience is an advantage. They’re open to employing UK citizens, outlining the steps needed to do so.

⭐️Work And Play On The Beach And Boats In Greece This Summer Season
GREECE > Dan is back, splashing about in the water after completing his first of four seasons with Kos Watersports, one of the largest watersports companies in Greece, operating eight centres around Kardamena and Kefalos. They are trying to tempt some new Dans over to the Greek Islands to work as either a watersports administrator or a stewardess. A ferry ride away, on Naxos, Plaka Watersports is hiring windsurfing instructors.
⭐️Volunteer Opportunity In Lombok
INDONESIA > Ayo Explore Indonesia is opening up opportunities for international volunteers who are eager to make a difference in a small rural community. This is their first time welcoming volunteers, who will teach basic English to local children, support activities at their community reading house, and help raise awareness about environmental care, especially waste management. ⭐️Sustainable Living In The Andean Mountains
COLOMBIA > Celestial Seed Sanctuary can be found on several work exchange platforms. On Workaway, they describe themselves as a small, land based project located in the Andean mountains of Colombia, about two hours south of Bogotá, in a temperate cloud forest and protected forest reserve, surrounded by rivers, native forest, and open land.
They say their project is in its early stages and focuses on land stewardship, regenerative living, and the gradual development of a permaculture inspired ecoproject. Day-to-day life is simple and hands on, with an emphasis on respect for nature, shared responsibility, and conscious living. At the moment, the project is cared for by a small team of two people, along with some chickens, fish, and a cat.
Last month, they took to social media to announce they are opening a few focused roles: one suited to writers, photographers, videographers, or content creators, another for someone organised, reliable, and grounded, and a third suitable to a natural builder of bamboo, cob, and wood.
⭐️Teach For A Year In China
CHINA > Application for the 26/27 Ambassador Year in China programme is currently open. The cultural exchange for university graduates to spend a year teaching at placement schools across China as an assistant English language teacher is open until June 30, but earlier applications increase the chance to accommodate your location/grade preference. To secure a Chinese work permit and participate in AYC, all participants must be native English speakers with a passport from the UK, the Republic of Ireland, the US, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.

MALAYSIA > Bubbles Turtle Conservation is looking for a passionate and motivated project coordinator to join their turtle conservation team on Perhentian Besar Island, starting now until October. In return for a monthly allowance, food and accommodation, you’ll lead nightly beach patrols, manage hatchery operations, coordinate their intern team, run turtle talks for guests, and help with data and grant reporting.

FRANCE > Discover Corsica differently: join an astronomy project, live in nature, and share moments with fellow sky enthusiasts. That’s the pitch on the HelpStay platform from Stephane, Observatory Manager at Stelle Nostre, a cultural project and observatory located in the mountain village of Erbajolo. ⭐️Travel Back In Time To Sundkøbing
DENMARK > Middelaldercentret - in English, The Medieval Centre - opened its doors for another year last month, welcoming a new batch of volunteers to live in the houses in the medieval town and communicate with their guests. We wondered if this is just for Danish speaking volunteers, but they have volunteers from all over Europe (and beyond). Many return year after year to the recreated town from 15th century Denmark.

SWEDEN > Medeltidsveckan is a historic festival in Visby on the island of Gotland. The organisers are looking for volunteers who’ll help make the festival happen. Volunteers can work setting everything up before the festival, during the festival to keep it running and/or afterwards to tear it all down. Entrance, ferry rides, sing songs, a camping ground spot, and the loan of medieval clothes are among the perks.
⭐️VIP Ski Opens Recruitment For Winter 26/27
FRANCE > A day after their managers ended their very busy winter 25/26 season with a pizza party, VIP Chalets opened recruitment for the next winter and began their hunt for another 170 or so chefs, nannies, chalet hosts, kitchen porters, drivers, maintenance, concierge staff, and more for their 50 properties across Avoriaz, Les Arcs, La Plagne and Val d’Isère.

FRANCE > Although their seasonal jobs page hasn’t been updated since last year, F&P Travel has in the past few weeks posted chalet host and driver and maintenance vacancies to Season Workers. They also hire chefs and welcome applications from both UK and EU passport holders.
⭐️Work In Morzine-Avoriaz
FRANCE > Chilly Powder say they begin their recruitment process nice and early for their winter season in Morzine-Avoriaz, and, true to their word, here they are advertising for ski school & chalet assistants, and for a maintenance person. They also hire chalet hosts, chefs, room assistants, massage therapists, and nannies. British passport holders will need to be prepared to go through the process of obtaining a French work visa.

USA > It’s alien themed poster invasion time again. Every year, Poster Invasion sends its two person touring teams to 45+ states on a mission to bring students an authentic form of self expression through the medium of posters. Paying a base compensation plus commission, they supply a vehicle, housing and travel related expenses to their hustlers, who should be aged 21+ and available for seven weeks.

COSTA RICA > Finca Las Hormigas bills itself is a centre for experimentation and education in regenerative living. They’re in Puerto Limón on the Caribbean coast and have a volunteer programme designed for travellers, adventurers, and nature lovers, aged 20 to 50, who want to give back through meaningful work, live close to nature and discover the wonders of community life. TURKIYE > At the end of February, Amy Howells packed two suitcases and came over to Southwest Turkey to help the 450 to 500 shelter dogs at Sarah’s Private Sanctuary. ⭐️Floating Flat Share
AT SEA > Turks & Caicos to Dominican Republic to Curaçao to Bonaire to Aruba to Colombia to San Blas to Colón to Bocas del Toro to the Panama Canal to Las Perlas, and on to French Polynesia is Ella and Felix’s intended route. They swapped Oslo and Berlin consulting desks for the helm of a catamaran that moves about as fast as a toddler on a bike, living full time on the water and sailing around the world in stages. They describe it as more like a floating shared flat - a bit hostel, a bit road trip, and a lot of adventure - and welcome people onboard to share costs. More than 60 people from all around the world have taken them up on their offer so far.
