âď¸Work For Americans In Germany
GERMANY > An option for Americans wanting to work in Germany is Edelweiss Lodge and Resort. Their guests are exclusively US service members and their families stationed worldwide.
They hire throughout the year based on their needs, with the busiest seasons in winter (typically starting in November) and summer (typically starting in June). Jobs here are entry level positions for up to 15 months in their housekeeping, custodial, food and beverage, guest services and recreation departments. They offer transportation from the USA to Germany, and free dorm style accommodation for the employment period.
AutomaticMonkeyHat, probably not their real name, had a friend working there a few years ago. In a Reddit comment, they shared their friendâs insight that most positions will be minimum wage, and they pay in US dollars, leaving little room for saving in a German resort town. She also mentioned a rough work schedule with little room for flexibility. But the surrounding area is beautiful, and the ability to travel pretty much made up for the downsides. Other opinions, good, bad and horrific, are given here and here.

We are surprised this is the first time Sunseed has appeared in rebooted JAB. They have been doing their thing near Almeria, in the Southeast of Spain, since 1986, and have advertised their coordinator and assistant positions with us numerous times down the years.

âď¸The Race Begins For Winter Season Jobs In Europe
EUROPE > The past ski season ended not long ago, but after a bit of a break, maybe somewhere warm, the usual winter employers will begin the cycle once again of getting new staff in place for the following year. So, who is, who will be soon, and who will eventually start hiring for the 2026/27 winter and ski seasons in the Alps and other mountainous parts of the continent?
We will add details of who is hiring to upcoming issues of JAB as they go live. But, for the moment, weâve gone through our list of ski season employers that have featured in JAB down the years, checked which ones have been naughty or nice, made sure they are still in business, added a few more, and put them all in one place below for you to wade through and get a head start in the race for a job next winter:
* AliKats Mountain Holidays, a family run independent luxury chalet company based in Morzine, will soon begin their recruitment of chalet staff, housekeepers, chefs and drivers.
* A family run luxury holiday company, Simply Morzine recruits chefs, hosts, reps, drivers and maintenance staff with the promise you will be treated as an individual, not a number.
* While The Boutique Chalet Company say they are always on the lookout for great chalet hosts, housekeepers, managers and chefs, as well as support staff for their French office in Morzine, they have already been advertising their winter 26/27 vacancies on their website for a good month. UK nationals are accepted for their more experienced roles.
* The recruitment doors will open on May 11 to usher in new hopefuls for roles in Ski Famille and Ski Vertigoâs 26/27 winter season. They are a good option in particular for skiing childcarers, and they welcome British Passport holders.
* The application forms to apply to Ski Basics as a chalet host, driver/host, chalet cook, or chalet manager have been available since last month. They offer both catered and self catered options catering to a range of budgets in Meribel. UK applications are considered.
* Applications for working a winter with Inghams opened last year in mid May. They will have a variety of winter jobs covering hospitality, catering, reps and management in France, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Andorra. Part of the same group are Inghamâs Lapland and Santaâs Lapland in Finland.
* People apply to work in Val dâIsère with YSE because they want to ski almost every day for five months on some of the best slopes in the world. Theyâll be opening recruitment shortly, and welcome applications from those holding the following passports: UK, EU, Australia and New Zealand.
* Skibound are still taking registrations of interest for jobs in their three lively club hotels in Alpe dâHuez, Les Menuires, and Serre Chevalier. Theyâll be holding webinars in May, where you can learn more about each role (and UK passport holders can gain useful information about the visa process), opening applications in mid June, and running online recruitment days throughout July, August, and September.
* Massage Meâs mobile home massage and wellbeing service across the French Alps will soon need new massage practitioners to come from all over Europe and beyond to spoil their customers. They usually start hiring after the end of April.
* Ski Beat made it into our last issue, such has been their quick start to thinking about next season, and we wouldnât want them to feel left out of this roundup. As always, we said nice things about their employment website, considering it a reflection of their came-out-to-do-a-season-and-never-went-back origins.
* All of Alpiniumâs teams in France share a common enthusiasm for excellent hospitality, guest service, tasty wholesome food and winter sports. The minimum requirements are for all host candidates to have attended a chalet cookery school. Experience in driving for at least three years is essential for drivers.
* Information for their chalet and logistics positions in Morzine next winter has already been on Skiologyâs website since the beginning of April. Specify why you want to work for them out of all the tour operators for a guaranteed response.
| Skiology |
* Though this may change by the time this issue is live, Purple Skiâs jobs page has yet to be updated for 2026/27 recruitment. But they already have held recruitment sessions at the end of last season in the resorts in which they have chalets - MĂŠribel, Corchevel and Val dâIsère - with EU and non EU applicants made welcome.
* European Pubs, owners and operators of five venues in the French Alps, hire bartenders, servers, chefs, hotel assistants and anyone with a passion for hospitality. Theyâve already held a recruitment afternoon at Jacks MĂŠribel.
* Potential chalet couples and maintenance people/drivers for Alpine 365 in 26/27 are encouraged to read on.
* Alpoholics operate several chalets in La Plagne, for which we have already seen them advertising this year for a resort manager. Other vacancies they may need to fill will be listed here.
* Ski Blanc will open recruitment from May 2026, when they will want couples - one in the kitchen, the other for front of house and housekeeping - to join them in Meribel. Under certain circumstances, they will consider Brits, Australians, Kiwis and Canadians.
* If they havenât already, roles will open soon for a position in one of The Alpine Generationâs catered ski chalets in various resorts across the French Alps, including Morzine, La Tania, Le Praz and La Plagne. Interviews will follow in June. Previous career breakers themselves, they are always interested to hear from couples and individuals who are looking to do the same.
* If you want to work hard, ski hard and have fun this winter, Family Ski will begin recruiting by next month, if not sooner, for jobs in two resorts in France. They will make the effort for British applicants, employing around 50 each year.
* We frequently spot Buildmyskitrip.com recruiting chalet hosts for both the full season and for shorter periods. We would expect activity from them for next season around the end of May.
* Ski Magic will keep your CV on file if you send it in before they officially start recruiting. Their chalets are in Courchevel Le Praz, La Tania and Meribel.
* Mountain & Tradition guide Brits and other non EU nationals through the process of applying for a visa to work in France. By the middle of May last year, they had listed their staff requirements for winter in Les Gets, a family friendly French village a few minutes from the livelier Morzine.
* Powder Byrneâs services to their guests in Austria, Switzerland and Italy include private airport transfers, exclusive childcare facilities, ski guiding, and mountain hosting. These need to be staffed accordingly, and they always require additional personnel over the winter seasonâs peak weeks - Christmas/New Year, February half term and Easter.
* Short break ski holiday specialists SkiWeekends judge each candidate for their chalet roles in some of the biggest ski areas in the French Alps on their experience, confidence and friendliness. They started recruiting early last year, by mid April.
* Ski Miquel began their recruitment by the middle of this month last year, but were still posting adverts for some positions at the end of the year. They will want chefs, bar & ski hosts, and chalet hosts with EU passports or the right to work already in place.
* Recruitment usually begins in earnest in June, but VIP Skiâs recruitment team returns to the UK a month earlier to start sifting through the hundreds of CVs received for jobs in one of their 40 properties across Avoriaz, Morzine, Les Gets, Les Arcs and Val dâIsere.
* At Canterbury Travel, they call their reps Arctic Stars, and husky mushing, reindeer rides, and tobogganing are part of the job spec for their rangers in Finland. They hire general assistants to serve meals, and have character roles - including Speedy Sam, Noisy Nod, Tricky Dicky, Snowy Bowy and Wendy Wood - where you will be expected to speak in an authentic elf accent and be responsible for intertwining games, songs and dances into magical tours. Other responsibilities include collecting, organising and distributing presents, mini snowmobile supervision and tobogganing.
* Hunter Chalets & Apartments is active in Morzine and Les Gets. Their ski season positions usually go live in May.
* Le Ski should have a number of different job titles to hand out to successful applicants heading to their chalets in Val dâIsere, Courchevel 1650 and La Tania. They say that they accept applications from British passport holders and will help you get the visa you require. Their recruitment officially opened last year in June.
* Applicants aged under 22 are unlikely to have sufficient experience to join the Snow Retreat team in La Tania.
* Hip Hideouts is a small owner run luxury ski chalet company located exclusively in Val dâIsère. They say they have one of the most highly qualified teams in the Alps. They are a member of SBiT, whose members are seasonal outbound travel businesses that employ UK citizens to work in Europe for winter or summer seasons.
* Skiworldâs ski season jobs are in snow sure resorts, and they will want teams in Alpe dâHuez, Courchevel, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Les Deux Alpes, Meribel, Meribel Mottaret, St Anton, Tignes, Val dâIsere and Val Thorens. At the time of writing, they were taking registrations of interest for when ski season recruitment opens in spring. We gave them our email address and were spammed with unwanted holiday offers. Applications are now open.
* TG Skiâs teams for their chalets in Morzine and Meribel are made up of hosts, drivers, chefs and managers.
* Snowbizz is a family ski holiday specialist. They will be hiring junior kids reps and ski nannies in Puy St Vincent, France.
* The long established family run Snowcoach operates the Hotel lâAigle in Valmeinier in the French Alps. They are already listing their winter 2026/27 requirements.

* Select School Travel will look for enthusiastic, resourceful and professional peak season reps who will be focused on ensuring that their school groups will experience the best ski holiday ever, both on and off the slopes. In Europe, their school trips venture to France, Austria, Italy, Andorra and Norway.
* Sooner or later, Interski, which delivers school ski trips and snowsports holidays in Italyâs Aosta Valley, will be looking for instructors and staff to join their resort team for the upcoming winter season. A few roles may be open for UK passport holders.
* Total Chalets will have a small number of vacancies for couples or pairs of friends to join their chalet team in Bansko, Bulgaria. Cooking is an important part of the role, but it is not essential to be a professional chef to work here.
* Alpine Resort Nannies were already going again by this time last year, looking for warm and friendly professional nannies. Cheery dispositions, eagerness for creating and planning exciting activities, flexibility around the familyâs needs and overall energy to enjoy an unforgettable winter ski season are a must have here. As are a minimum of two yearsâ consolidated experience in a professional childcare capacity within the past five years and the right to work in France.
* The last ski resort in the French and Austrian Alps where Merinannies are based will soon close for this season, but it wonât be long until they start hiring nannies for the next.
* Chilly Powder say they begin their recruitment process nice and early for chalet hosts, chefs, room assistants and nannies hoping to work in Morzine-Avoriaz. British passport holders will need to be prepared to go through the process of obtaining a French working visa.
* Alpine Culture recruit passionate, ski driven hospitality professionals for their luxury chalets in Tignes and Val dâIsère.
* If you have snow running through your veins, are flexible, love being part of a high performing team, have previous hospitality experience, are over 21, and hold a UK or EU passport, Ski Verbier Exclusive would love to talk with you when applications open in May.
* Reach4TheAlps is active in Morzine and Les Gets. When we last looked, they still had their summer vacancies listed, but in past winter seasons theyâve filled chalet host, driver and resort crew positions with couples and singles.
* Another Morzine option is Elevation Alps. Most of their guests speak English, but they also have French, Dutch and German speaking guests too. They say to their prospective employees you will find a welcoming and understanding environment if English is not your first language, but you want to improve.
* Northstar Chalets looks for couples or friends to run their catered chalets in Morzine. They may help UK applicants with visa applications.
* In previous seasons, weâve seen Ski Weekender advertising their ski jobs in April. They offer fully catered short break ski holidays in the resorts of Le Grand Bornand/ La Clusaz in the Aravis and other resorts in the Northern French Alps.
* Kaluma, an owner managed, ski chalet operator working in St Anton am Arlberg and Courchevel 1850, hires chefs, chalet hosts, a kitchen assistant, drivers and a resort manager. They seem to start hiring a little later than other employers, around June or July.
Four staff work in each of Altitude Luxeâs chalets in Courchevel and MĂŠribel.
* In one of our recent Extra issues for our paid subscribers, we said we hadnât yet seen Jelly and Ice Cream recruiting nannies for work in the French Alps next winter season. When we still accepted job advertisements, rather than grubbing around for them in the snow as we are now, they usually advertised around this time of year.
* Alpine Child Care act as an introductory agent connecting self employed nannies with families looking for child care for their ski holidays. Nannies receive 24 Euros per hour for the jobs they are chosen for.
* Life in the mountains in winter is an unforgettable experience that will shape your career, whether you aspire to continue in hospitality or become a city banker, says Alpine Elements.
* Hotel Christiania, in Les Gets, is continually on the search for enthusiastic, hard working and flexible staff for their winter season. If you have some hospitality experience, whether in the kitchen, front of house or in housekeeping, then they would love to hear from you. British applicants passing their Zoom interview will be assisted with getting a French work visa, provided they cover the cost of the process.
* Cold Fusion Chalets can be found in several resorts in France, where they encourage their staff to take the time with their guests, sharing stories and experiences with them over a glass of wine or on a chairlift.
* Housekeepers, reps and drivers are the main roles with Go Montgenevre, based near the Italian border. They will respond to applicants to offer interviews after the summer season ends.
* Skiidy Gonzales has already put up information for drivers wanting to experience driving in snowy and icy conditions up and down mountain roads to and from Geneva airport.
* Spoken French is desirable, and excellent customer service skills are essential when driving for Mountain Drop-offs. They provide an airport and in-valley transfer service in Chamonix and the surrounding areas.
* Getaway Vans will have winter driving and admin positions. Drivers should be over 25 years of age and have at least two years of professional driving experience.
Driving for Benâs Bus in the French Alps will suit people with work visas and accommodation already in place who are looking for a part time or weekend job for a bit of extra cash.
* Alpybus drivers serve resorts in the French Alps and across the Swiss border. Donât bother trying to apply through their recruitment page. The links and other aspects of it are quite out of date, but other contact details are given on their website.
* It was only a month ago that Treeline Chalets were recruiting for their summer team in Morzine, and we would not expect them to have any information for winter quite yet. Try here again in June or July.
* Jack and Jill Holidays look for mature candidates with a bit of life experience for chalet host and transfer driver roles in Morzine.
* Recruitment for F&P Travelâs winter season opened by June last year. They will look for talented chefs, chalet hosts, drivers, and managers to join them in Meribel. They welcome applications from both UK and EU passport holders.
* More Mountain will need staff to fill positions for chalet host couples, apartment assistants, and resort team supervisors in Morzine.
* Sooner or later, Atlas Ski Co will pop online and remove âAll 2025/25 positions filledâ from their chalet host and chef job descriptions.
* Delicious Mountain is now recruiting for 2026/27, already listing their chalet job vacancies in Meribel.
* For some odd reason, Neilsonâs winter vacancies in the mountains of France, Italy, and Andorra have never appeared in JAB. Three years ago, in May, we saidthey were readying their website and taking registrations of interest in anticipation that their vacancies in management, hospitality, kitchen, guiding and childcare positions would go live. Perhaps they did, and they will do so again this year.
* Scott Dunn is another business whose winter vacancies have never featured in JAB. Scott and JAB seem to have drifted apart since we used to walk past their office in a terraced house at the end of our street in Tooting Bec, London, when JAB was young and still had dreams. They say their main recruitment period for winter positions is from May until November.
* A large amount of their staff return year after year, says owner run Consensio Chalets. Their properties in Val dâIsère, MĂŠribel and Courchevel need chalet hosts and managers, chefs, chauffeurs, housekeepers and resort assistants.

* Meribelâs Le Rond Point, aka The Ronnie, should be closed for the summer by the time we send out this issue. In the same resort, and part of the same group, are La Taverne, The Brewerâs Den, and Sullys.
* One of the better reviews of the Doron Pub, a lively venue in Meribel centre, says the place smells like sick. They are part of the Mountain Trading Company, a selection of bars across France and Austria, including Scotts, in the same resort, Moris Pub, in Val dâIsere, not one, but two Scottys, in La Plagne and St. Anton, and La Terrasse, in Chamonix.

* On the website of Verbierâs Pub Mont Fort, scroll down to find a link to download an employment application form. Questions to be answered include your favourite pizza and funeral song choice. The form is in English, and among the latest (mostly decent) reviews is a complaint that none of the staff speaks French.

* Premier Neige is still referencing the 2024/5 winter season on its jobs page. When we looked in on them in April, aka their distant future, the Sainte Foy ski holiday specialist was taking bookings for next season when weâd expect them to need skilled maintenance personnel, housekeepers, drivers, chalet hosts and a concierge person.
* Spend the winter in the Austrian Alps tutoring Britainâs budding skiing professionals. Ambition Racingâs teacher position plays a vital role within the ski team. Athletes as young as eight years old join the academy for various weeks throughout the autumn and winter, studying each afternoon after a morningâs skiing coaching. | Hotel Christiania | Skiidy Gonzales Airport Transfers | Jack & Jill Holidays | The Alpine Generation |
The following do not have employment pages, but we have seen them recruiting in the past for winter staff:
* Alptitude Chalets sometimes advertises positions in Morzine related Facebook groups and websites.
* Changeover staff, maintenance folk and drivers in Morzine are among the staff weâve seen Snow and Trek advertising for.
* Host Savoie removed the join us page from their website some time ago, but they still look for staff. This ad, posted last year, will give an insight into their needs.
* Ski Hame operate catered chalets in Meribel and La Tania. They also have a transfer business. They do not have an employment page, but membership of SbiT indicates a willingness to employ Brits. They sometimes hire through the Jobs in the 3 Valleys Facebook group.
* The lively sports bar with gastropub food, Le Local Morzine is usually spotted recruiting chefs, wait staff and kitchen assistants for the summer, but we have seen them hiring for the winter too. They say that for the right people, they can handle work visas and permits for UK passport holders.
* Pub Le Ski Lodge and La Taiga, both in La Tania, have a connection, presumably the same owners. We certainly see them using the same email - takemeontim@gmail.com - when advertising front of house or kitchen positions in Facebook groups.
* On their home page, The Ski Company is pondering things to consider for winter 2027. Their jobs page simply said coming soon when we looked. It said the same in 2023.
* Saloon Group operate several venues across the bar street in Val Thorens. They donât have an employment page, but email addresses and links to their social media, where vacancies are sometimes posted, can be found here. In previous years, theyâve held interviews in Denmark, Sweden, Portugal and Ireland.
* We have only seen this hotel and bar in the French Pyrenees hiring French speaking staff for the summer, but itâs in the mountains, they describe themselves as close to two ski resorts, and they offer ski packages, so weâd expect them to need people for the winter.
* Aside from offering their child care services to holidaying parents in Meribel and Courchevel, Meribel Nanny Services makes no mention of employing nannies on their website. Where we have seen them advertising for ski resort nannies, theyâve said they expect applicants to have two or three years of experience in a childcare setting or private home, plus an EU passport.
* Not all of the MĂŠribel & Courchevel Nanny Services team can return for the next season, so they are recruiting some new faces for winter 2026/27.
* Alpine Fleet hires resort dispatchers to be based around the French Alps. We would assume they take on drivers, too.
* Mountain Express says an unusually large number of their drivers return each winter, which is perhaps why they donât have any information for potential new drivers on their website. They also say new drivers joining them are carefully selected for their friendly, courteous and professional approach, and, as part of their selection process, they must pass a driving assessment carried out by a military trained diplomatic chauffeur and driving instructor, and they are all trained in advanced Alpine Driving techniques. More is revealed in this advert, which they placed a month or so ago.
* When Snowbound Transfers need new drivers, they put a call out in the Jobs in the 3 Valleys Facebook group. Hereâs one from last year.
* While they donât have a jobs page, chalet jobs in Morzine, Les Gets, and Portes du Soleil may be found with Rush Adventures.
* Ski Cuisine, a small independent in Meribel, has abandoned its employment and opportunities page, but we did see them trying to hire a chef midway through last season.
* Supreme Ski School offer a wide range of ski lessons in some of the most popular ski resorts in France and Switzerland. They are already hiring ski instructors.
* Enthusiastic ski instructors can join Swedish Ski School in Sierra Nevada, Spain. A high level of English and an EU passport or work permit are required. Knowledge of Swedish would be a plus. There isnât employment information on their website, but some info and an email address can be gleaned from this post from last September on their Instagram.
* Hucksters Ski Holidays removed their job vacancies page sometime in 2023, but it never said much more than recruitment for the next season will start in April. Drop by after April, and it would still say the same. In theory, they need chalet hosts, maintenance/drivers and chalet cooks to service their holidays in three resorts in Italy and France.
* If you are hardworking, conscientious, with an eye for detail and hold the right to work in France, they might have you at Soap Box, a laundry in Meribel.
* We mentioned Simmering Shots in JAB recently. They provide bars and nightclubs with shot sellers. Right now, these will be heading to Ibiza, but come winter, they work in the French Alps.
* Alpine Shineâs website isnât a great deal of help to mountain job seekers, so scroll down a little on their Facebook profile to find ads from last year looking for cleaning assistants to join them in MĂŠribel.
