PERU > More kind hearted surfers can be found in Peru, in a small underdeveloped community called Cerrito de la Virgen in the north of the country, near Huanchaco, known for its surf breaks and strong surfing community. Surf Cerrito is a non profit aiming to use surfing to empower the boys and girls living there by making the sea a more accessible space for children from low income backgrounds.
They are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people, who are available for a minimum of six weeks, to help them make a real difference to people’s lives. You don’t need to be a surfer to apply, all they ask is that you have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to making a difference. Some basic knowledge of Spanish is desirable as you will be working closely with the local community.

Vela Baja Adventure Sports has an opportunity to work on the beautiful Baja California Sur coast in Mexico from November to March.
Kitescool has been looking a while for instructors to work in Nelson from November/December 24 to March 25. Applicants must be qualified and experienced kitesurf instructors, fun, reliable and eligible to work in NZ on a working holiday visa. ⭐️Paid Workaways For The 24/25 Ski Season In The Japanese Alps
JAPAN > We did a list of paid workaways in Japanese ski resorts in JAB last year. Some of those hosts are hiring for this upcoming ski season too, including this boutique ski lodge in Nagano, this one too, a BnB guesthouse in Appi Kogen, an interior showroom and cafe/wine bar in the holiday town of Yuzawa, one hour by bullet train from Tokyo, and this family lodge to enjoy skiing and hot springs in Nozawa Onsen. In the Hakuba Valley region, try this ski and snowboard guest house, this ski lodge, a family run lodge or get in touch with Emily and Mike. They run both a ski lodge and ski through/slope side cafes. This ski lodge also had left one open housekeeping position.
Membership of Workaway and a Japanese Working Holiday Visa, available to nationals of 30 countries, will be required to land these gigs.

At the moment, registrations of interest are being taken for their upcoming childcare vacancies and entertainment vacancies (both EU nationals only), their rep jobs open to both UK and EU nationals, and for sports and leisure roles (for both UK and EU nationals). COSTA RICA > Costa Rican Alliance for Sea Turtle Conservation & Science (COASTS), a grassroots non profit working on the frontlines studying and protecting nesting and feeding sea turtles in Costa Rica, has 12 internships available over the 2025 nesting season: eight spots for regular interns and four spots for interns with previous sea turtle experience. TANZANIA > Got a masters degree, love hyenas and don’t need money? United Tansania is offering food and accommodation for a research assistant to join their dedicated team. The post, which we spotted in the private Wildlife Workers’ Network Facebook group, has attracted some criticism for the amount of qualifications required for an unpaid position. Either pay or reduce the qualifications needed is the gist of it.

⭐️Just 23,000 People Came To UK Last Year On Youth Mobility Visas
UK > Just 23,000 people came to the UK last year to work as part of the British youth mobility scheme, a fraction of the overall net migration figure, which may allay fears in the Labour government as it comes under pressure to let in young EU holiday workers, reports The Guardian newspaper. Most came from Australia and New Zealand. The figures give EU diplomats more hope of reaching a post Brexit deal to allow young holiday workers into the UK.

INDIA > Surfing Yogis recently posted brief details of a paid instructor position with accommodation and food in the Work and Surf Facebook group (private).
⭐️Cheap Road Trips
WORLDWIDE > We can get our hands around the wheel of a near free car or campervan by taking vehicles from where they are to where rental companies want them to be. In many popular travel destinations services exist to solve a logistical problem for the rental car industry. Car fleets move in one direction as cars are driven away by tourists and pile up where they are not needed.
The cheapest way to get the vehicles back where rental companies want them is to stick a backpacker in the driving seat. The car rental company gets a free delivery, the backpacker travels from A to B without having to buy a bus ticket. Other perks can include a free tank of fuel, ferry tickets and insurance.
Families, students, event-goers, and other travellers are all welcome too. The only requirements are age related, usually over 18 or 21, to have a full driving license valid for the country we are travelling in, and to get the vehicle to its destination within a specified time.
Transfercar is the best website we’ve found. Hundreds of cars, vans and campervans were listed in New Zealand alone when we checked them out. Most were available for $1, some were free, there are no booking fees, and each detailed listing provides information on fuel costs, if any, and driver requirements. Transfercar is also active in Australia, the US and Canada, Brazil and South Africa.

- Spaceship Rentals - Campervan and motorhome relocations between London and Edinburgh. None were available when we looked but past week long trips included a luxury motorhome for £25 per day.
- Just Go - Register to get an alert for when relocations are required from London to Edinburgh. No details on price or anything else really. Just Go also occasionally does factory relocation trips. In 2024, they ran one from Tuscany offering the chance to get behind the wheel of a brand new motorhome for a ten day roundabout trip through Europe to the UK for significantly;y cheaper than their usual rental rates.
- Bunk Campers - Relocation deals are occasionally listed. A three night trip between Edinburgh and London for £5 per day featured when we looked.
Europe
- Moveacar - Use the website or app to find 1€ rentals. Includes campervans. Routes include Barcelona to Munich, Stockholm to Berlin, and several routes to and from Marburg, a town in Germany with a deadly virus named after it.
USA & Canada
- HitTheRoad.ca - Was probably once a pioneer in connecting people with transportation needs in a budget and environmentally conscious way, but is now a not particularly user friendly website with a few cars listed as coming up but the only links given were to distant past social media of journeys completed.
- El Monte RV - Lists one way specials, up to a fortnight long, mostly from the west coast to east, with up to 90% rental discounts.
- Cruise America - From time to time Cruise America & Cruise Canada may need to reposition RV's from one area of the country to another. These one way specials are discounted by as much as 95%. There seems to be a good few weeks to complete trips.
Australia & NZ
- Coseats.com - Lists a good selection of A$1 a day relocations with fuel allowances, but listings can include booking fees (often refundable for doing something on social media), admin fees, refundable deposits and bonds. Nato Lesnic took to social media recently to share his experience with them.
- Cruisin Motorhomes - Lists a respectable number of A$1 relocations from a variety of major cities such as Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns, and Perth.
- Drivenow - $1 a day listings in both Australia and New Zealand motorhomes and campervans, most of which were filled already so join their watch list to be at the front of the queue for the best deals.
- Jucy - Daily rates from as low as NZ$1 a day though, Oh, snap! They were out of campervans and cars when we checked them out. In most cases, you get a free tank of gas and an Interislander ferry ticket, if applicable.
- Britz Campervans - Says they have relocation deals from time to time and provides a contact number if you are keen to hit the road within the next three weeks, or are enquiring about specific dates and vehicles.
- Wicked Campers - Provides a phone number for relocating their vans from Brisbane to Melbourne. A link to a contact page and something about monkeys and bikinis is all they provide on their NZ website.

- Imoova.com - Campers and cars for $1 per day plus a booking fee. Some vehicles have a fuel allowance, some don’t.
- Wicked Campers - Posts relocation deals in South Africa when they need their vehicles moved from Cape Town to Johannesburg, or from Jo'burg to Gaborone.

Wicked Campers Chile sometimes lists positions open to foreigners with both English and intermediate Spanish.

And, if you are experienced in either cabinet making, carpentry, or building, Vanlifer needs someone to help build a rental fleet over the next few months.

⭐️‘Targets Are Unrealistic’: Sacked Fruit Picker Tells Of Treatment On Kent Farm
UK > Kazakhstani man says he regrets coming to the UK for seasonal work, but employer refutes account of his experience. The 32 year old had been working on British farms since March after coming to the UK on a seasonal worker visa. As an educated IT worker, he was willing to try something different since he had the potential to earn more than double his Kazakhstani salary of about £830 a month.

FRANCE > Reopening recruitment for an office administrator position based in Les Allues for this winter is Apres Ski Bands. Duties will include artist booking and communications, event logistic planning and some data entry for accounts. The ideal candidate will speak French to a decent level of proficiency. There will be some flexibility to get ski time as some hours can be in the evening.
