⭐️Skibound Vacancies
FRANCE > A winter season with Skibound is like no other begins every single listing on their jobs page. Skibound accommodates school groups in three clubhotels in the French Alps. While they say applicants with EU documentation are preferred, a statement elsewhere on their website, that their clubhotels are operated by their own mainly British staff, suggests a decent success rate for British passport holders applying for a French work permit and visa.
⭐️Handy Allrounders
FRANCE > The ideal candidate for Chilly Powder’s Morzine based ski season handyman position will know about electrics, plumbing, carpentry, decoration and preventative maintenance, and be able to deal with varied issues on a day to day basis. Excellent communication skills are also a must for this role.
⭐️Chalet Host Couples
FRANCE > The Freeride Republic is looking for a chalet couple to work in their chalet operation in La Tania and Meribel for the forthcoming 24/25 winter season. Positions are available to UK passport holders, EU passport holders or holders of a French carte sejour residency permit. Previous professional or commercial cooking experience is required for at least one of the applicants.
⭐️Mature Chalet Couples Preferred At Chardons
FRANCE > If you’d like to spend a winter in Tignes, try Chalet Chardons. More mature couples are preferred here, with no upper age limit.
⭐️Junior Kids Rep Wanted In Puy St Vincent
FRANCE > Exceptional and hard working individuals with previous childcare experience are needed to assist Snowbizz in a challenging role in their resort office, ski school, crèche and on airport transfers. An EU passport would be ideal and as Snowbizz is licensed by the French DDASS all of their staff must have the following injections: Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio.
⭐️Remote Island Conservation Interns
BRITISH OVERSEAS TERRITORY OF SAINT HELENA, ASCENSION AND TRISTAN DA CUNHA > The Ascension Island Government is offering three 12 month internships beginning in November offering a chance to get involved in the long term monitoring of native turtles, seabirds, and crabs, endemic plant conservation, maintaining national parks and nature reserves, and any other projects that are running.
As described by Sophie Tuppen in her post to the private Wildlife Workers' Network Facebook group, Ascension is a remote, tropical island of 800 people, two military bases and a lot of turtles. Internships are unsalaried, but a contribution of £160 per month for subsistence will be paid to each intern, plus return flights and accommodation. Application deadline is July 21. They’ve also a paid vacancy for a conservation assistant.
⭐️Teach English In Romania
ROMANIA > The Educational Centre Forever Young in Bacau is looking for young people who speak good English to become English trainers at kids' summer camps.
⭐️English Language Volunteer Help For A Conservation Project In The Yasuní Rainforest
ECUADOR > Applications are open until July 23 to become one of the two enthusiastic and curious people helping to develop a new rewilding project in Ecuador by delivering English language classes and a children’s club in the community where they own land. This is a long term role of five to six months. Elsewhere in the country, a beach house in Manta awaits English teachers (private group) happy to engage in conversations with students in an English school.
⭐️Complete The Hunter Chalets Team
FRANCE > Hunter Chalets is looking to complete its team for winter 2024/25 in Morzine and Les Gets. Chefs, senior drivers and senior hosts are the roles remaining. Read their requirements on their careers page before emailing a cover letter and CV to jobs@hunterchalets.com.
⭐️Teach English In Kathmandu
NEPAL > The Sri Aurobindo School of Kathmandu needs volunteer teachers to start in May 2025. All instruction is in English. No salary or travel stipend is given, but the school will provide a private room with a bathroom and all meals. A three month commitment is required.
⭐️English Native Speakers Wanted For A Cultural Language Camp
POLAND > International Village have a week long cultural language camp coming at the end of August. If you are aged between 22 and 32, and a native English speaking glass half full type of person with ants in your pants, find out more here. The position is paid, and they will cover your plane tickets and board and lodging during the camp.
⭐️Work On A Small Island In A Lake On A Big Island
INDONESIA > Would you like to work where others are on vacation? Sure you would. Why the hell have you subscribed to JAB otherwise? The jobs page of Zoé's Paradise Waterfront Hotel, a three star Swiss-Bataknese boutique hotel on Samosir Island, Lake Toba, Sumatra, is aimed at Indonesian citizens but they say that depending on the situation they may also accept volunteers on a work for stay basis. Share your skills and experience, and what kind of work you are interested in and capable of doing, with Marlene Hämmerli (Mama Zoé) and something could be arranged.
⭐️Hook Up With Cats And Doggies
USA > Open to all types of travellers - singles, couples, RVers, van lifers - New Mexico’s Desert Haven Animal Rescue have work camper openings this autumn/fall and winter. You will help socialise, clean up after, and exercise their dogs and puppies and also provide care, attention and clean up for their cat and kitten populations. They don’t offer pay for their basic animal caretaker position but provide a FHU (onsite at their small RV Park) in exchange for 16 to 18 hours a week for singles or 30 hours a week for couples.
⭐️Join The F&P Travel Team In Méribel
FRANCE > As of a week ago F&P Travel still had a few chalet positions to fill. They are looking for an experienced chalet host looking for a new adventure with plenty of ski time, a chance to meet interesting people and to work in a small team in one of the world’s finest resorts.
⭐️British Backpackers No Longer Need To Do 88 Days Regional Work In Australia
AUSTRALIA > Since July 1, UK passport holders can be granted up to three separate working holiday visas in Australia without having to meet any specified work requirements, ending the need to complete 88 days of regional work to qualify for their second or third work visas. This requirement will still apply to other nationalities. Brits can also now apply for a working holiday visa up to the age of 35.
⭐️Work In The Most Central Pub In Australia
AUSTRALIA > Kulgera Pub & Roadhouse is hiring two allrounders who can commit three to six months in an environment that is a great opportunity to save money for your travels. Describing themselves as an easy going spot where travellers come to roll out the swag, fuel up and down some cold beers, they’re set in the desert within a few hours of some of Australia’s most iconic spots: Alice Springs, Uluru, Coober Pedy, the Simpson Desert, and Dalhousie Springs. A$28 an hour, free ensuite accommodation and meals, plus staff discounts are the rewards.
⭐️Tree Roo Rescue
AUSTRALIA > Volunteering is one way to help at Tree Roo Rescue, Australia’s only tree kangaroo rescue centre, an hour and a half west of Cairns. They look for enthusiastic, fit and hardworking people to join their team feeding and cleaning after the roos. No experience is needed as training will be provided on site. Free comfortable caravan accommodation is provided for staying a minimum of one month.
⭐️Apply Now For The Roots Awakening Project In An Ecovillage In Bulgaria
BULGARIA > From August 13 to September 11, young people aged 18 to 30 years can join an eco hub (private group) in the village of Bunovo, 70km from Sofia. This project is funded by the European Solidarity Corps programme. All travel, food and accommodation costs are covered by the programme. Each volunteer will receive 200 euros in pocket money. ⭐️Bighorn Bistro & Bakery Is Hiring For The Winter Season
FRANCE > Bartenders and floor staff (private group) are sought for the upcoming winter season in Chamonix. The successful applicants will be vibrant individuals who have experience, value hard work and have a passion for the industry. Accommodation assistance is available but not included.
⭐️Dog Shelter Help
MEXICO > Alessandro Nomade has put out a call for travellers in Mexico or who plan to arrive soon to help out in a dog shelter for at least seven months. Accommodation is in a house near the shelter with a private room.
⭐️AsiaMotions Is Expanding Its Team
VIETNAM > International applicants are welcome to apply for school trip provider AsiaMotions’ activity instructor position. See this graphic for concise details or the recruitment page on their website where other positions are also listed.
⭐️Fee Free Community Volunteering In Africa
UGANDA & TANZANIA > Fee free volunteering is rarer in Africa than in other parts of the world, but Voluntouring.org is currently listing two opportunities to help out in the east of the continent with no fees aside from paying for transport. Near Lake Victoria is Streams of Mercy, a community based organisation with a mission to empower vulnerable women and girls who have been abused. They need help with psychosocial support, economic empowerment, education, and health services.
Over the border in Tanzania, Baby Shine Day Care and Pre-School in Mbweni Teta, Dar es Salaam, offers volunteer opportunities to those interested in teaching children languages, participating in cultural exchanges, renovating their facilities, and organising games.
⭐️Chance Your Arm
FRANCE > Jordan Herluison, who has worked since 2019 at Tsaretta, a bar, restaurant and live music venue in Les Allues, Meribel, responded recently to a Facebook job wanted post placed by an Aussie bar tender/teacher looking for some work for the 24/25 ski season in France. We don’t know if she applied or not and they don’t have a jobs page, but it does suggest they need some staff for this winter. Both Jordan’s management and Tsaretta got an endorsement from someone who worked there last year, saying it “is an amazing place to work for money and work ski balance.” Send your resume to manager@tsaretta.com.

USA > Are you a recent college graduate? Are you able to help drag or carry large snakes through the woods? Do you have a BS or BA in one of the biological or environmental sciences? UAE > School group specialists The Adventure Centre are expanding their team for the upcoming 24/25 season. They want an outdoor activity instructor and a camp leader and have posted an ad to Adventure Work to prove it. Ecoventure is also looking for instructors for September and December starts.
⭐️Join The CNH Family
CHINA > China New Horizons was recently looking for an education coordinator/manager for their Guangzhou operation. On their website, they say that they welcome experienced outdoor instructors in kayaking, SUP, coasteering, climbing and abseiling to join the CNH Family.
⭐️Horse Help Exchange
AUSTRALIA > In Victoria, Loretta Kelly is considering offering her self contained two room cabin on her farm for free to an intermediate level rider in exchange for helping with her horses.
⭐️Prepare Pizza In Perisher
AUSTRALIA > An experienced pizza cook is required for a busy pizzeria in Perisher. The position comes with your own room. Other positions are listed on this graphic.
⭐️Makeup Artists Needed For Kendal Calling Festival
UK > BadMakeup has a job opportunity particularly suited to makeup students and recently qualified makeup artists/beauty therapists, but all are welcome to apply. This is a paid position. Kendal Calling Festival is held in the Lake District from August 2 to 4.

UK > Alton Towers is on the lookout for hauntingly terrifying ghosts and ghouls to join their Scarefest Entertainments Team. AUSTRALIA > A paid opportunity for a retired couple to join a family run caravan park near Broome has presented itself on Grey Nomads Jobs. The receptionist and yardman must have their own accommodation, for which a powered caravan site is provided as part of the package.
⭐️Three Hostel Volunteering Suggestions In Malaysia
MALAYSIA > Laulima Travels have posted a hostel exchange route, covering Malacca, Ipoh, and Kuala Lumpur to take you around Malaysia. We’ve stayed in PODs, their KL choice, and think owner Wah would be a lovely guy to work with (though at the time of writing the PODs listing is marked as not available).
⭐️Meeting A Bitter End
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS > Bitter End Yacht Club on the island of Virgin Gorda is seeking one qualified watersports instructor to adapt to island life and join their crew for the start of the 24/25 Season in October. Elsewhere in the islands, The Moorings have need for a dedicated crewed yacht steward to provide exceptional service to guests on their luxury yachts.
⭐️Yoga Volunteers
WORLDWIDE > Surf & Yoga Retreats have an opportunity for a yoga teacher to start ASAP until October in Mirissa and Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka. A shared twin female room and all meals are offered for teaching two classes per day, six days a week. In the same group, Talalla Retreat has posted “Volunteer opportunities at Talalla Retreat Sri Lanka for on-site marketing and guest relations. Whatsapp +94779039515.”
Calumet Falls Retreat & Spa, at the bottom of Canada's highest private waterfalls, say they are always looking for someone to join their group, though we couldn’t find any volunteering info on their website. Similarly, the Alkantara Community, near Mt Etna in Sicily, also recently put themselves forward as an option for volunteers.
Shree Hari Yoga School, set amongst the lush coconut palms bordering Kudle Beach in Gokarna, one of South India’s important pilgrimage sites, does have volunteering information, stating that they prefer their volunteers to stay at least three to six months or longer. Cambodia’s Yoga Barn Kampot sometimes hires yoga teachers - we think paid ones - and may have an opening this October if you want to send them your CV.
⭐️Handy People Needed to Help Finish A House In Beautiful Lofoten
NORWAY > One or several handy individuals are sought to help finish a house in the stunning Lofoten Islands. If you have building skills, experience working with wood, know how to assemble IKEA kitchens, or have a green thumb for garden work, these hosts would love to hear from you via the Workaway Volunteers Europe Facebook group.
⭐️Elephant Sanctuary Internships
CAMBODIA > Elephant Valley Project, Cambodia's oldest elephant sanctuary, have developed a three month long internship programme with four intakes per year open to both Cambodian citizens and international applicants. They can not offer a salary but neither is there a programme fee. Food and accommodation may be available depending on the season. Otherwise, interns will have to house themselves in town for $100 to $150 per month. A project list can be found here.

Candidates with less superyacht experience but with a great sailing background will be considered. Friendly, social candidates are preferred. Male due to cabin arrangements.

⭐️Seeking A Passionate And Experienced Wildlife Veterinarian Looking For The Opportunity To Work In The Bolivian Jungle
BOLIVIA > Comunidad Inti Wara Yassi (CIWY) is looking for a veterinarian for their wildlife sanctuaries in the Bolivian Amazon. A small salary, three meals a day and accommodation is offered in return. They also have a pay to volunteer programme with discounts the longer you stay. If you can stay for 6 months, you can apply as an animal caretaker for accommodation and meals. There’s also their Artist in Residence programme to consider. We’ve mentioned this before in JAB.

AUSTRALIA > A family of four is looking for their first au pair to join them as soon as possible and become a part of our adventures, preferably staying for a minimum of two months. WORLDWIDE > Some Peace Corps programmes receive fewer applications and are in greater need of qualified candidates. If you choose to go where you are needed most, the Peace Corps will identify a programme that matches your skills and interests and you’ll be next in line to go anywhere that aligns with your skills, language qualifications, preferences, and availability. Peace Corps volunteers should be US citizens over 18 years old. Recent college graduates, working professionals, and retirees can serve, committing to two years of service, plus training time.
