⭐️Mark Warner Childcare Roles Summer 23
GREECE & TURKEY > A big red Recruiting Now! appends the titles for Mark Warner’s early years leader and children’s activity leader roles, indicating that they are actively seeking experienced and qualified childcare personnel to work in their Greek beach resorts Kamari, Paleros and Lemnos, as well as at Phokaia Beach Resort in Turkey. UK nationals rejoice! Our black/blue/whatever passports still hold their former currency for these positions.
⭐️Yoga Or Horses?
GREECE > Santorini Horse Riding is looking for team members as horse tour guides or horse trail riders. They expect strong, hard working, and cheerful people who have advanced level experience. Yoga on Kos wants an allrounder to take care of breakfast, cleaning and other tasks including feeding their rescue cats who live around the hotel. Both are advertising on Greeka.com.
⭐️Intro Travel Group Leaders
WORLDWIDE > Applications are accepted year round for group leaders but Intro Travel is having a bit of a push for new recruits at the moment. So, if yes is your answer to the questions do you have a passion for travel, love meeting new people and embracing new cultures, head over to their website to see if you’ve got what it takes to join their crew.
⭐️Ukrainian Volunteers Wanted In Palermo

The project promotes social inclusion, equal opportunities and solidarity values, by involving young volunteers in the preparation, development and implementation of non formal educational activities for marginalised young people.

⭐️Ski Retail And Retail Vacancies
AUSTRALIA > George’s Ski Hire, a busy rental and retail store 25 metres from the base chair lift in Mt Buller alpine village, is seeking passionate, enthusiastic and engaging people to join their small team of 15 staff. They love having a mix of Australian and overseas people working with them. Last year they had people from France, Chile, the UK, and China joining them.
⭐️Snowbombing Bar Work
AUSTRIA > Snowbombing is the biggest after season party in the Alps, taking place each year in Mayrhofen. This year it’s on April 10 to 15 and HAP Solutions have paid bar jobs for applicants with an Irish bank account, PPS Number and EU passport. You will be expected to work five shifts across six days. In return there’s €12 per hour, return flights from Dublin, shared accommodation, two meals a day, plus free entrance to the festival and discounted ski hire and lift passes.
⭐️Kala Festival Volunteers
ALBANIA > Can’t make Snowbombing because your Grandad voted you out of the EU? How about a beach holiday and boutique music festival on the stunning Albanian Riviera? Expect blissful beach days, mouth watering Mediterranean food and the very best DJs and live acts performing at spectacular open air seaside venues, it says here. Kala begins May 31, with other festivals following in June and September. Mainstage takes volunteer applications via this form.
⭐️Volunteering In Laos
LAOS > We suggested to a French couple looking for a work exchange in Laos that Village Focus International may be able to use some help from volunteers or interns. Tasks include legal research, grant writing, website design, communications, and fundraising.
Travellers in Luang Prabang can help make a difference with English practice sessions held at Big Brother Mouse’s drop in centre. They’ll cook lunch in return for reading a picture book with first graders, playing chess with third graders or holding a conversation with a young adult who grew up on a rice farm.
Next time we’re in the city we might stay with Sa Sa Lao, an eco lodge overlooking the Nam Khan River. They take on a couple of volunteers at a time through Workaway, though if not a member you might be able to bypass their fees and contact them directly via their Facebook. YouTuber Craig gives us a tour of the place from his long term lockdown stay there.
Another couple of YouTubers stuck in Laos during that time were spotted recently dropping into somewhere we have stayed before: Mr Noi’s in Don Det. When we were there they had a French volunteer. Many of the shacks lining the Mekong in Don Det had a foreign volunteer doing what can loosely be described as customer facing roles. These would be arranged on the spot if your face fits (in a vertical position, eyes not too glazed), but judging by Mario and Olivia’s video I doubt tourism numbers have picked up enough for this yet. Put this one in the bank for the future if you intend visiting this real life Land of the Lotus Eaters.
⭐️Creatives Can Stay For Free In Southeast Asia
SOUTHEAST ASIA > Another way to enjoy the view of the Nam Khan River is to be an artist, producer, photographer, musician, writer, or world explorer with a considerable following. Then, NamKhan Ecolodge will want to work collaboratively with you, offering an enriching and magical experience with a view of the said river from one of their glamping tents.
Mad Monkey also wishes to work with influencers and similar creative types. Reach out with an idea they like and they would love to host you in their properties in exchange for your creative services.
Try Bodega and Slumber Party too. These two hostel brands united under the Collective Hospitality banner have the COHO Creative Partner Program that calls out to artists, models, musicians, photographers, content creators and influencers interested in short or even long term stays in Thailand. And, filled under it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it, there is their Party Rep Volunteer Program.

⭐️Backpacker Jobs In Australia
AUSTRALIA > It’s been a while since we properly lurked about Backpacker Job Board where among the latest positions is this one for a ski season chef, this one for a sous chef to join the team in a new venue opening in Bondi Beach, and this one by Happy Travels for a travel sales specialist.
⭐️Regional Farm Work For Your 88 Days
AUSTRALIA > With their local farm contacts, Bec and Adam of Cambrai Backpacker Hostel Maffra have earned themselves a good reputation for being able to quickly set travellers up in employment and counting down those 88 days needed for a second year working holiday visa. Join their waiting list now if you think you’ll need them as they are booked up until April. The hostel is in Gippsland, a rural region in southeastern Victoria.
⭐️Beach Bar Superstars
NEW ZEALAND > Harbar Beach Bar and Kitchen is promising a gorgeous view of the ocean every day, with photo worthy sunsets, and the possibility of spotting an orca swimming in the harbour to both their front of house and their back of house crew. You can find them in Akaroa, Christchurch, which doesn’t look like an island to us, so they must be fibbing to someone.
⭐️Farm Stay Work Exchange
THAILAND > Walkabout Wayne, one of the YouTubers we use to get our Chiang Mai fix, left town recently and headed to Chiang Dao, to Yidan’s farm stay for digital nomads and slow travellers. Yidan, from China, bought land in the area and takes on volunteers through HelpStay and other work exchange networks to help with developing her dream of building a place where she can enjoy her favourite things: food, nature, and animals. Yidan has her own channel on YouTube where she posted this video of her first time hosting volunteers.

They’ve online information sessions coming up from now until May to answer your questions.
⭐️Academics Come Camp In Germany
GERMANY > If you can put up with that slightly irritating thing in the top left corner of their website obscuring the navigation, congratulations: you’ve passed Academic Camp Germany’s test and are qualified to teach art, science, economics, maths and other subjects to their summer camp students. That, plus experience in teaching A Level, the IB, Advanced Placement or ESL. They also need active and enthusiastic people as camp counsellors.
⭐️Campsites In Europe Looking For Volunteers This Summer
FRANCE > None of the following campsites mention it on their websites but in past summers we have seen each one advertising for volunteers to work for a few hours a day in exchange for a pitch, electricity, and perhaps a few other perks: Camping de Montréal, Camping de la Bastide, Camping La Vallée des Vignes, and Camping Pors Peron. The social media and website of Fonclaire Holidays seem barely touched since a changeover of owners in 2018 but they are still welcoming guests according to TripAdvisor.
Chateau de Lacomte Country Club, a four star adult only touring park in the Dordogne, may also have a few paid jobs for beauty therapists. Les Méditerranées is three campsites on the Mediterranean coast. They've used JAB in the past to look for a mini club entertainer speaking French, English, German and Dutch. Accommodation is provided along with wages.
⭐️It’s Still Still Not Too Late To Join The Ski Season
EUROPE > Ski World’s have reposted their advert to Season Workers for a chalet manager, while a chef shaped whole has appeared in a Ski Miquel Chalet Hotel.
⭐️Make Some Happy Faces In Romania
ROMANIA > Help organise free activities for kids at a summer camp in Transylvania. In Romania, many students from smaller towns and villages in Romania cannot afford to travel outside the country and volunteers like you may be their first contact with someone from another country.
Each summer the organisers of Happy Faces Camp recruit new staff members who are energetic, enthusiastic and enjoy working with children and young people. Your meals and accommodation will be covered while at Happy Camp, where you will help to organise camp activities such as sports, games, karaoke, painting or dancing, and participate in trips and hikes. The minimum stay is four weeks but volunteers can stay the whole summer if they wish. Volunteers should be aged 18 to 40.

⭐️What’s On Chicken Loop This Week?
WORLDWIDE > We can’t do a JAB without dropping in on Chicken Loop, our favourite free watersports job board. While the ads are particularly uggo, where else can we learn a scuba diving instructor is sought on Elba Island, Italy, discover a Sardinian watersports centre seeks both a receptionist and a skipper/snorkelling guide, and Beijing Sailing Center are recruiting for RYA dinghy instructors and senior instructors.
We did have to venture onto Facebook though to discover Jeddah Yacht Club is offering six month contracts to various RYA instructors, beginning in August, with flights, visas, accommodation and transport all included in the package.
⭐️English Language Babysitting In France
FRANCE > We’ve had to have words with Babylangues, Be My Nounou, and Mômji for each posting the same adverts too frequently to the Jobs Abroad Bulletin. But while we can find them annoying they are not Eveil, whose website and social media all look dated but nonetheless were hiring native English speakers for babysitting jobs in France recently.
⭐️Advice From A Nanny In The USA
USA > Jules, who worked as a nanny in the States, was in good way tears at the end of her stint looking after a family she adored, but she knew other nannies who weren't so lucky with their new families. We discovered some notes we’d jotted down ages ago from her offering the following insights on what a nanny job is like:
- You will always feel obligated - you can't really relax in the house without feeling you should be helping with the kids or doing something useful.
- You usually only get one day off per week. And they sometimes say 'they'll let you know' which day you can have off. That is exploitative and shows they have no concern for your personal time.
- If you are living in they will always give you less money for your work. They call it paid room and board. But you will work longer than an eight hour day, so if you work out your hourly wage it's always very low.
- You will be so tired at the end of your day off that you won't be able to enjoy it. It will be hard to meet people because you will be cooped up in the house or at the park watching kids all day. It's like “Mom Training Camp.”
Jules ended by saying it can be fun but suggests looking into the BUNAC type of work abroad programmes: "You will get a work permit and can choose your line of work. It will pay better, be more structured and you'll spend fewer hours at your job."
⭐️Look Out For Kids In Greece In 2023
GREECE > If you would like to work in the sun this year as a live in nanny at home or even on a yacht, then consider joining the enthusiastic team assembled by Kids in Greece. Their current resorts include the Greek Islands in the Ionian and Aegean Seas plus Crete, Rhodes, Kos, and on the mainland in Athens, Thessaloniki and Halkidiki. Applicants should have at least three years of childcare experience, including infants, and be fluent in English with an EU passport. Being able to swim and drive are advantageous.
Worldwide Kids may also have vacancies in Greek resorts for creche assistants. Childcare qualifications, a minimum of two years experience working with large groups of children from four months to four years are needed, along with a proactive, positive and approachable manner.
⭐️Brigadoon Village In Nova Scotia Is Hiring Summer Staff For 2023
CANADA > Brigadoon Village is a non profit year-round recreational facility. During the summer months, they run an overnight summer camp programme for children and youth living with chronic health conditions and other life challenges, such as grieving the loss of a loved one. These programmes give campers a chance to meet others who understand their specific struggles and help them to feel less alone.
Most of their positions are camp counsellor positions, in which they say you will work harder than you’ve ever needed to before. You’ll go to bed exhausted at the end of every day, pushed to do your job better and better every day, cleaning up gross messes, getting up in the middle of the night with an upset or sick child, and dealing with situations you’d never even considered before, all while losing your voice because of all of the campfire songs you’ve been singing. Asked if they would hire international staff, they said “we’re certainly open to it if we think they’re a good fit.”
⭐️More Canadian Summer Camp Jobs
CANADA > In Ontario, it’s not too late to get your application in to join Pearce Williams Summer Camp & Retreat Facility for their next interview day on February 19. Apply here for still available vacancies at Camp Eden Wood. Pine’s Summer Day Camps are hiring for multiple positions. Camp Kahuna is also looking for motivated people who are passionate about working at camp.

It’s the same deal with MCW Animawork, who are looking for dancers and choreographers for Kos, and mini club entertainers with childcare qualifications in Crete.
⭐️Write Surfer SEO Content
REMOTE > Now, we readily admit when we spotted the headline for this ad we thought some of our readers would be perfect for this: working remotely, with a view of the breaks, writing about surfing. And what chance did we have to think otherwise when SteadyContent’s current copywriter couldn’t make it past the second sentence of their ad in Problogger without shouting AWESOME. Surfer is actually * reads Wikipedia * a content optimisation and analysis tool and SteadyContent is hiring additional writers with Surfer SEO experience, or a willingness to learn, to pen all kinds of subjects, from cars to cadavers, from facelifts to Ford motorsports.

⭐️Life On The Edge
NEW ZEALAND > In Life on the Edge, a short series of articles in The Guardian, New Zealanders and Australians describe living and working in some of the world's most isolated places. Stories include life inside New Zealand’s Antarctica base and an Estonian who carved out a niche for herself as a photographer on remote Stewart Island.
For your own adventure investigate this Workaway listing to join Robyn and Malcolm, a mid-sixties couple, who need some help taming their wild gardens on an island off the coast of New Zealand. They mainly attract people who want to embrace nature and get away from the big cities for a while. They say most people who are there enjoy their stay and go away with new experiences. It is a friendly Island where it is easy to hitch around without a car. If you are a chef or have worked in the fast food industry they may have some paid work for you.
